Slovenia: Inflation hits highest level since March in July
Consumer prices fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.11% over the previous month in July, swinging from the 1.29% rise recorded in June. July’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since April. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages fell at a slower rate in July, although price pressures for clothing and footwear fell at a sharper rate. Meanwhile, electricity, gas and other fuels price growth moderated.
Inflation came in at 0.3% in July, contrasting June’s 0.3% drop in consumer prices. July’s result marked the highest inflation rate since March. Annual average inflation fell to 0.9% in July (June: 1.0%). Harmonized prices fell 0.3% on an annual basis in July, which was a softer drop compared to June’s 0.8% decrease.
