Slovenia: Inflation increases in August
Consumer prices increased 0.09% in August over the previous month, coming in below the 0.41% rise logged in July. August’s result marked the lowest reading since January. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages were largely unchanged in August, while prices for transportation rose at a slower pace. Meanwhile, electricity, gas and other fuels prices were stable.
Inflation came in at 2.1% in August, up from July’s 2.0%. Annual average inflation ticked up to 0.5% in August (July: 0.3%). Finally, harmonized inflation ticked up to 2.1% in August, from the previous month’s 2.0%.
