Spain: Economic sentiment rises into optimistic territory in October
Economic sentiment rose to 100.3 in October from September’s 99.1. As a result, the index moved above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors. Moreover, confidence in the services sector improved in October, as did sentiment in the retail sector. Lastly, consumer confidence increased in October.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index rose in October.
