Spain: Economic sentiment improves in July
Economic sentiment came in at 104.1 in July, up from June’s 102.4. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the industrial sector and construction sectors. Moreover, consumer confidence improved in July. On the flip side, confidence in the services and retail sectors cooled in the surveyed month.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index rose in July.
