Spain: Housing permits fall in August
The Spanish Board of Architects approved 3,253 new construction permits in August, according to data published by the Ministry of Public Works. The figure was above the 5,322 permits granted in August 2020 but below the 10,280 permits granted in July 2021. On an annual basis, permits increased 17.5%, also due to a low base effect, following July’s 54.1% jump.
Meanwhile, the moving three-month sum of permits totaled 25,370 in August, which represented a 32.6% jump from the same period of 2020 and followed the 37.7% increase recorded in July.
