Spain: Decline in industrial activity softens in July
Industrial output slid 1.8% year on year in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in July (June: -3.2% ). July’s softer drop was largely driven by a rebound in consumer goods output. In addition, capital goods production gained steam.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.2% in seasonally adjusted terms in July, rebounding from June’s 1.0% fall.. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 0.6% in July (June: +1.2%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
