Spain: Decline in industrial output softens in May
Industrial production fell 0.1% year on year in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in May (April: -1.0% ). May’s improvement was largely due to a notable rebound in consumer goods output. In addition, capital goods production improved.
On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 0.6% in seasonally adjusted terms in May, rebounding from April’s 1.9% fall. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 2.1% in May (April: +2.5%), signaling a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
