Spain: Decline in industrial output softens in September
Industrial output dropped 1.4% year on year in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in September (August: -3.3% yoy). Looking at the details of the release, consumer goods output dropped at a sharper pace in September, while capital goods output climbed at a quicker pace. Meanwhile, intermediate goods output also increased.
On a seasonally and calendar adjusted monthly basis, factory output rebounded, rising 1.1% in September (August: -0.7% mom), the best result since March. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.5%, down from August’s minus 0.1%.
