Spain: Industrial output grows in April
Industrial production expanded 2.4% year-on-year in seasonally- and calendar-adjusted terms in April (March: 0.0%). The acceleration was due to an improvement in consumer goods output and energy production growth as well as to a rebound in the production of capital goods. In addition, the contraction in intermediate goods production moderated.
On a monthly basis, factory output expanded 2.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in April, contrasting March’s 2.0% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 4.2% in April, down from March’s 7.0%.
