Spain: Harmonized inflation rises in February
Harmonized inflation rose to 6.0% in February, following January’s 5.9%. Stronger price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages and restaurants and hotels were mainly behind the reading.
The trend declined, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 8.1% in February (January: 8.3%). However, core inflation rose to 7.6% in February from 7.5% in January, marking the highest reading since 1992.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.94% in February over the previous month, contrasting the 0.43% decrease seen in January.
