Spain: Harmonized inflation rises in April
Harmonized inflation rose to 3.4% in April from 3.3% in March. April’s acceleration was mainly due to a faster increase in prices for housing and utilities—due to a rollback of some subsidies—and a faster increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
The trend was stable, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at March’s 3.0% in April. Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 2.9% in April from 3.3% in March, marking the lowest rate since February 2022.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.60% in April over the previous month, following March’s 1.35% increase.
