Sweden: Economic sentiment inches up in August
Economic sentiment rose to 95.7 in August from July’s 95.2. Despite the uptick, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the industrial and in the construction sectors. Additionally, consumers became optimistic. Less positively, confidence in the retail and services sectors waned in the surveyed month.
