Sweden: Industrial output rebounds in December
Industrial output increased 0.6% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in December, which contrasted November’s 2.8% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, December’s notable rebound was due to the combination of a markedly weaker contraction in manufacturing output and an acceleration of mining production growth.
On an annual basis, industrial output dropped 0.3% in December, a softer decrease than November’s 1.3% fall. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 1.8% in December (November: +2.0%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
