Sweden: CPI and CPIF inflation slow in August
The consumer price index (CPI) decreased 0.4% in August compared to the previous month, contrasting the 0.4% increase in July. The decrease in August was primarily due to falling food and non-alcoholic beverage prices. CPI inflation slowed to 1.4% in August, down from 1.7% in July.
CPI inflation with a fixed investment rate (CPIF)—which is closely followed by the Central Bank—moderated to 1.3% in August from 1.5% in July, edging closer to the bottom of the Central Bank’s 1.0%–3.0% tolerance band.
