Sweden: CPI inflation edges up in September while CPIF inflation holds steady
The consumer price index (CPI) increased 0.5% in September compared to the previous month, contrasting the 0.4% decrease in August. The increase in September was primarily due to more expensive alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and healthcare. CPI inflation accelerated to 1.5% in September from 1.4% in August.
CPI inflation with a fixed investment rate (CPIF)—which is closely followed by the Central Bank—was unchanged in September at August’s 1.3%, sticking within the Central Bank’s 1.0%–3.0% tolerance band.
