Sweden: CPIF falls to lowest level since April 2022 in May
Consumer price inflation with a fixed interest dropped to 6.7% in May below April’s 7.6%. May’s reading represented the weakest inflation rate since April 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose at a slower pace in May. Prices for transportation also grew at a more moderate rate.
Annual average inflation was unchanged at April’s 8.8% in May. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 9.7% in May, from the previous month’s 10.5%.
Lastly, consumer prices with a fixed interest rate increased 0.10% from the previous month in May, which was below the 0.20% increase recorded in April. May’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
