Sweden: Inflation increases to near two-year high in March

Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate rose 0.17% in March over the previous month, moderating from the 0.30% increase recorded in February. The result was largely due to falling prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels. In addition, prices for recreation and culture dropped.

Inflation rose to 1.9% in March, up from February’s 1.5%, and marked the highest inflation rate since May 2019. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation rising to 0.7% in March (February: 0.6% yoy).
