Sweden: Inflation decreases in July
Consumer prices rose 0.22% in July over the last month, moderating from the 0.58% rise logged in June. July’s result marked the softest rise in prices since April. The reading was primarily due to falling prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels. In addition, price pressures for transportation moderated while prices for recreation and culture also grew at a more subdued pace.
Inflation ticked down to 0.5% in July from June’s 0.7%. In addition, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.0% in July (June: 1.1%).
