Sweden: Inflation inches up in July
Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate increased 0.29% in July over the previous month, picking up from the 0.10% rise recorded in June. July’s uptick marked the sharpest increase in prices since February. Looking at the details of the release, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rose in July after dropping in the previous month, while price pressures for housing and utilities gathered steam.
CPIF inflation in annual terms came in at 1.7% in July, up from June’s 1.6%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.2% in July (June: 1.1%).
