Sweden: Inflation slows significantly in January
Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate (CPIF)—which is closely followed by the Central Bank—decreased 1.5% in January compared to the previous month, contrasting the 0.4% increase in December and largely due to lower prices for clothing and shoes, electricity and travel services.
CPIF inflation slowed to 1.2% in January from 1.7% in December, marking an over two-year low and only just remaining within the Central Bank’s 1.0%–3.0% tolerance band. Annual average CPIF inflation was unchanged at 1.7% in January.
Non-adjusted consumer prices (CPI) slumped 1.4% in January compared to the previous month, contrasting the 0.4% increase in December. CPI inflation slowed to 1.3% in January from 1.8% in December, while annual average CPI inflation was unchanged at 1.8%.
