Sweden: Inflation ticks up in August

Consumer prices fell 0.15% over the previous month in August, contrasting July’s 0.20% rise. August’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since April. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transportation, food and non-alcoholic beverages, and recreation and culture dropped after growing in the previous month. In contrast, prices for housing and utilities increased in August.

Inflation came in at 0.7% in August, which was up from July’s 0.5%. Meanwhile, the trend remained unchanged from the prior month, with annual average inflation coming in at 0.9% in August.
