Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer eases in October
The KOF Economic Barometer fell to 90.9 in October from September’s 92.3. October’s result marked the weakest sentiment since June 2020. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the Swiss economy.
The drop in the Barometer was driven by worsening dynamics in the manufacturing and hospitality sectors. Indicators for construction, financial services and private consumption were broadly unchanged.
