Taiwan: Decline in industrial output softens in October
Industrial production declined 3.6% year on year in October (September: -4.5% yoy). The smaller drop was partly driven by an improvement in manufacturing production. In contrast, electricity and gas supply output fell notably.
On a monthly basis, industrial output grew 1.6% in seasonally adjusted terms in October, contrasting Septembers 5.2% fall and marking the best result since April. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 3.8%, down from September’s 5.1%.
