Taiwan: Inflation holds steady in March
Inflation came in at 2.4% in March, matching February’s reading. Rising price pressures for food were offset by a fall in transport prices. Inflation is roughly a third below its mid-2022 peak, and far below comparable readings in other developed markets.
Annual average inflation edged down to 2.9% in March (February: 3.0%). Finally, consumer prices increased 0.24% in March over the previous month, contrasting the 0.61% drop recorded in February.
