Taiwan: Inflation edges higher in November
Consumer prices decreased 0.41% in November compared to the previous month, contrasting the 0.03% increase in October. The reading was dragged lower by the tumbling price of vegetables, owing to an abundant harvest, while garment prices declined on sales promotions.
Core consumer prices, which exclude prices for energy, fruits and vegetables, decreased 0.25% in November from the previous month, contrasting the 0.48% increase in October.
Inflation, meanwhile, nudged up to 0.6% from October’s 0.4%. Annual average inflation picked up to 0.5% from 0.4%.
