Taiwan: Inflation holds steady in October

Consumer prices increased 0.03% in October compared to the previous month, down from the 0.17% increase in September. On the other hand, prices for water, electricity and gas supply plummeted due to non-summer electricity rates going into effect.

Core consumer prices, which exclude prices for energy, fruits and vegetables, increased 0.48% in October from the previous month, contrasting the 0.11% decrease in September.

Inflation, meanwhile, was steady in October at September’s 0.4%. Annual average inflation slowed to 0.4% from 0.5%.
