Taiwan: Inflation holds steady in September
Consumer prices increased 0.17% in September from the previous month, contrasting the 0.02% decrease in August. The price increase in September was driven by higher prices for vegetables and fruits. Core consumer prices, which exclude prices for energy, fruits and vegetables, decreased 0.11% month-on-month in September, after dropping 0.20% in August.
Inflation held steady in September at August’s 0.4%, while core inflation edged up to 0.5% from 0.4%. Annual average inflation slowed to 0.5% from 0.6%.
