Thailand: Inflation comes in at highest level since July 2008 in August
Consumer prices rose 0.05% from the previous month in August, contrasting the 0.16% drop seen in July.
Inflation came in at 7.9% in August, which was up from July’s 7.6%. August’s result was the highest inflation rate since July 2008. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 4.8% in August (July: 4.2%). Finally, core inflation rose to 3.1% in August, from the previous month’s 3.0%.
