Thailand: Manufacturing activity expands at five-month low rate in October
Manufacturing production grew 3.0% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in October, softening from September’s 4.3% reading and marking the lowest reading since May. The slowdown was spearheaded by a contraction in automobile production.
On an annual basis, manufacturing production dropped 0.5% (September: -2.1%), which marked the best result since April 2019. Moreover, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of manufacturing production coming in at minus 9.6% in October, up from September’s minus 10.3% reading.
