Thailand: Inflation recedes in June
Inflation came in at 0.6% in June, which was down from May’s 1.5%. The reading was largely driven by a softer increase in prices for food and beverages. In addition, prices for housing and utilities declined in June.
The annual average variation of consumer prices was flat in June, matching May’s reading. Meanwhile, core inflation was steady, coming in at May’s 0.4% in June.
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.31% in June over the previous month, swinging from the 0.63% increase recorded in May. June’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since December 2023.
