Thailand: Inflation hits highest level since September 2023 in April
Inflation in April came in at 0.2%, contrasting March’s 0.5% year-on-year drop in consumer prices. April’s result marked the highest inflation rate since September 2023. A rebound in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages was mainly behind the reading.
The trend pointed down slightly, with coming in at minus 0.1% in April (March: +0.1%). Meanwhile, core inflation was steady, coming in at March’s 0.4% in April.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.85% from the previous month in April, picking up from the 0.03% increase logged in March. April’s uptick marked the highest reading since June 2022.
