Thailand: Inflation inches down in May
Consumer prices increased 0.48% month-on-month in May, up from the prior month’s 0.44% rise, reflective on noticeable price increases for food and non-alcoholic beverages, while transportation and communication costs also rose albeit at a softer pace than in the prior month.
Inflation inched down from 1.2% in April to 1.1% in May; while remaining with in the Central Bank’s target range 1.0%–4.0% target range, it edged closer to the lower bound. Core inflation, meanwhile, inched down to 0.5% in May from 0.6% in April.
