Turkey: Business confidence improves in August
Business confidence came in at 106.2 in August, up notably from July’s 100.7. August’s result marked the best reading since February. As a result, the index remained above the 100-threshold, separating optimism from pessimism among businesses.
The uptick came on the back of an improvement in firms’ assessments of current order books and stocks of finished goods. In addition, views on orders in the past three months turned positive, while the outlook on employment in the next three months turned rosier. In contrast, sentiment regarding the general business situation deteriorated.
