Turkey: Business confidence improves in October
Business confidence rose to 100.3 in October from September’s 99.9. As a result, the index moved above the 100-threshold, indicating that businesses turned optimistic.
The headline improvement was driven by more optimistic views regarding order books in the past three months and fixed investment expenditure. On the other hand, attitudes towards order books and stocks of finished goods at present remained downbeat, while views regarding output, employment and export expectations in the next three months became less optimistic. Moreover, firms held more pessimistic views regarding the general business situation at present.
