Turkey: Consumer confidence records worst reading since January in July
Consumer confidence came in at 80.1 in July, down from June’s 85.1. July’s result marked the worst reading since January 2023. The index remained below the 100-threshold, separating pessimism from optimism among consumers.
The downturn was driven by deteriorations in household’s view about their financial situation and the country’s over the next 12 months. That said, households become more likely to purchase big-ticker items over the same period.
