Turkey: Consumer confidence rises but remains in negative territory in September
Consumer confidence rose to 71.5 in September from August’s 68.0. Despite the uptick, the index remained entrenched below the 100-threshold, indicating pessimism among consumers.
The increase was driven by improvements in household’s views regarding both their financial situation and the country’s general situation over the next 12 months. Moreover, consumers became more likely to purchase big-ticket items.
