Turkey: Economic sentiment falls in February
Economic sentiment came in at 95.5 in February, down from January’s 96.6. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the industrial and retail sectors. In addition, consumer confidence weakened in February. On the flip side, sentiment in the construction and services sectors strengthened.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index fell in February.
