Turkey: Inflation hits over two-year high in June
Consumer prices increased 1.94% over the previous month in June, picking up from May’s 0.89% increase. June’s jump marked the sharpest increase in prices since November 2020.
Inflation increased to 17.5% in June from May’s 16.6%. June’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since May 2019. Annual average inflation rose to 14.6% in June (May: 14.1%). Lastly, core inflation rose to 17.5% in June, from the previous month’s 17.0%.
