UAE: Dubai inflation increases in June
Inflation in Dubai came in at 3.9% in June, which was up from May’s 3.8%. The acceleration was largely due to stronger price pressures for transport. Meanwhile, housing and utilities prices continued to rise at a rapid rate, exceeding the general rate of inflation for the 16th month running, pushed up by rapid population growth amid recent visa reforms.
Annual average inflation in Dubai ticked up to 3.3% in June (May: 3.2%).
Finally, consumer prices in Dubai rose 0.28% in June over the previous month, swinging from May’s 0.24% drop.
