Ukraine: Industrial production growth decelerates in February
According to data released by the Statistical Institute, industrial activity rose 1.9% in February over the same month last year, below January’s 3.6% expansion. February’s deceleration reflected slower growth in manufacturing output and mining and quarrying production, along with a notable contraction in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
Sequential data revealed that industrial production contracted 3.5% over the previous month in February, an improvement from January’s 13.9% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up and annual average growth in industrial output came in at 0.8% in February (January: +0.3%).
