Ukraine: Industrial production growth eases in March
According to data released by the Statistical Institute, industrial activity rose 1.0% in annual terms in March, decelerating from February’s 1.9% expansion. The moderation came on the back of a contraction in manufacturing output. Meanwhile, mining and quarrying production grew marginally, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply rebounded considerably.
On a more positive note, sequential data revealed that industrial production expanded 7.6% over the previous month in March, contrasting February’s 3.5% fall. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output came in at 1.0% in March (February: +0.8%).
