Ukraine: Inflation broadly stable in July
Consumer prices fell 0.6% month-on-month in July, which followed June’s 0.5% decrease. According to the Statistical Institute, falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages; clothing and footwear; transport; and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels were chiefly behind the drop, mirroring last month’s release.
Inflation was broadly unchanged, edged up marginally from 9.0% in June to 9.1% in July. It lies above the Central Bank’s 6.5% plus or minus 2.0 percentage points target range. Meanwhile, annual average inflation was stable at June’s 9.2% in July.
