Ukraine: Inflation eases to two-and-a-half-year low in March
Consumer prices rose 0.9% month-on-month in March, up from February’s 0.5% increase. The result was largely driven by higher prices for clothing and footwear, as well as for transport, according to the Statistical Institute.
Inflation edged down from 8.8% in February to 8.6% in March, marking the weakest reading in two-and-a-half years. As a result, inflation continued to edge closer to the Central Bank’s 6.5% plus or minus 2.0 percentage points target range. Lastly, annual average inflation also moderated in March, coming in at an over four-year low of 9.8% (February: 10.2%).
