Ukraine: Inflation slides in September
Inflation came in at 7.1% in September, down from August’s 8.6%. September’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since January 2021. Looking at the details of the release, transportation prices rose at a quicker pace in September compared to the previous month, while price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels eased.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 18.7% in September (August: 20.2%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 8.4% in September, from August’s 10.0%.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.49% over the previous month in September, rebounding from August’s 1.39% fall.
