Ukraine: Inflation stays near 22-month low in August
Consumer prices were flat month-on-month in August, following a 0.7% mom contraction in July. August’s result marked the third time prices remained unchanged from the previous month so far this year. According to the State Statistics Service, lower prices for clothing and footwear, and food offset higher prices for housing and utilities, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
Inflation ticked up to 9.0% in August, from July’s near two-year low of 8.9%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation fell from 13.3% in July to 12.7% in August—a 13-month low.
