United Kingdom: Industrial production growth slows in July
Industrial production increased 0.1% in July over the prior month according to the Office for National Statistics, down from the 0.4% rise in June. The weaker result was due to contractions in the manufacturing and water supply sectors. Supporting growth, however, were expansions in the mining and quarrying, and electricity and gas sectors.
Industrial production increased 0.9% in annual terms in July, down from 1.1% in June. Annual average growth in industrial production slowed to 2.0% in July, less than 2.1% in June.
