Uruguay: Inflation declines to lowest level since August 2005 in April
Inflation came in at 3.7% in April, down from March’s 3.8%. April’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since August 2005. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a slower pace in April. However, prices for clothing and footwear dropped at a less pronounced pace.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 4.8% in April (March: 5.1%).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.63% in April over the previous month, picking up from the 0.02% rise recorded in March.
