Uruguay: Inflation increases in June
Consumer prices increased 0.67% from the previous month in June, accelerating from May’s 0.46% increase. June’s uptick was the sharpest rise in prices since February. Looking at the details of the release, housing prices increased at a stronger pace in June. Meanwhile, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a slower rate.
Inflation came in at 7.3% in June, which was up from May’s 6.6%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 8.8% in June (May: 9.0%).
