Uruguay: Inflation moderates in August
Consumer prices increased 0.83% over the previous month in August, picking up from July’s 0.77% increase. August’s uptick marked the highest reading since March. Looking at the details of the release, rising prices for clothing and footwear rebounded, while prices for health accelerated.
Inflation came in at 9.5% in August, down from July’s 9.6%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation ticking up to 8.7% in August (July: 8.6%).
