Vietnam: Industrial production slows in March
Industrial production rose 9.1% in annual terms in March, down from the 10.3% increase logged in February. The slight moderation in March was largely due to weaker manufacturing output and electricity and gas supply. On the other hand, mining and quarrying recovered slightly from February’s contraction, while water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities picked up notably in the month.
In month-on-month terms, industrial production growth soared to 27.6% in March, rebounding from the sharp 16.8% fall registered in February. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output edged up to 10.2% in March from 10.1% in February.
